The 2026 State of AI Visibility
The first data-driven look at how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overview answer buyer questions in this category — which platforms get cited, which get skipped, and where the buying decisions are actually being made.
Executive summary
Amazon PPC buyers are asking AI models for recommendations. The answers are consistent, uneven, and very different from what any Google search would return. Here's what our 30-day scan found.
The 60-second read
Pacvue is cited in 60% of buyer-intent answers across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. No other platform breaks 20% share on the three major LLMs. AI has picked its default answer.
We tracked 40+ named Amazon PPC platforms. Only 3 appear with any regularity: Pacvue, Perpetua, and Helium 10 Adtomic. Every other platform — Xnurta, Sellozo, Teikametrics, Scale Insights, Quartile, Skai — combined for less than 15% of total mentions.
AI models cite the same handful of sites when answering Amazon PPC questions: perpetua.io, quartile.com, pacvue.com, helium10.com, scaleinsights.com, teikametrics.com. Getting listed on these sites is what actually moves visibility — not more content on your own domain.
ChatGPT defaults to Pacvue (87% of answers). Claude and Gemini lean the same direction but cite Helium 10 Adtomic 3-4x more often. Google AI Overview is the outlier — it barely mentions any of them, defaulting to Amazon Ads console tutorials instead.
Of the platforms cited: 93% of Pacvue mentions carry positive sentiment. Xnurta and Helium 10 Adtomic mentions are 50/50 positive/neutral. The tools mentioned once or twice are often listed with critical framing ("limited feature set," "outdated pricing model"). Mention count alone hides real preference.
AI hasn't finished forming its opinion. Newer platforms — Daniks.AI, m19, SellerMate.AI, Ryze AI — appear once or twice each, suggesting the category leaderboard is not yet locked. The next 6-12 months will decide who joins the top-cited list.
Methodology
We fed 400 buyer-intent queries — the specific questions Amazon sellers, PPC managers, and agency operators actually ask — into four AI surfaces: ChatGPT (gpt-5.6), Claude Sonnet 5, Gemini 3.6 Flash, and Google AI Overview. Every 24 hours, over the past 30 days, we ran the full set again. That's 1,138 completed AI answers, each parsed for: which platforms were mentioned, in what position, with what framing.
Prompts were sorted into eight buyer-intent categories that mirror real buying journeys:
Mentions were tagged for sentiment (positive / neutral / critical), position within any listed answer, and cited sources — the specific URLs the AI referenced when answering. Everything below is derived from that dataset.
Scan period: 2026-07-25 to 2026-08-25. Google AI Overview coverage is intentionally sparser than the other three surfaces — Google renders an AI Overview panel for roughly 40% of buyer-intent queries in this category (compared to ~99% for the other three, which always answer). We've kept the AIO data in and flagged it where it changes the picture.
The leaderboard
Ranked by total mentions across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for the 400 buyer-intent queries we tracked. Pacvue is the runaway leader. Everyone else fights for the remainder.
| Rank | Platform | Share of voice | Mentions | Sentiment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| i | Pacvue | 468 | 93% positive | |
| ii | Helium 10 Adtomic | 131 | 62% positive | |
| iii | Perpetua | 99 | 88% positive | |
| iv | Quartile | 74 | 100% positive | |
| v | Teikametrics | 47 | 96% positive | |
| vi | Scale Insights | 33 | 70% positive | |
| vii | Xnurta | 9 | 55% positive | |
| viii | Intentwise | 7 | 85% positive | |
| ix | Sellozo | 4 | 100% positive | |
| x | SellerStack | 3 | neutral |
What this ranking hides: 30+ additional Amazon PPC platforms show up 1-3 times across the full dataset — Daniks.AI, Ryze AI, SellerMate.AI, m19, Maino.AI, Marketplace Ad Pros, Jarvio, Sellerview.ai, SmartScout, and others. These are the "long tail" — brands still forming their AI narrative. See Section 8 for what they can do about it.
The category doesn't have three or four players fighting for attention. It has one dominant answer and a very long tail of "also mentioned once" — which is a completely different competitive shape than the traditional Google SERP for the same queries.
Per-model breakdown
If you're only measuring ChatGPT, you're getting one story. The other three tell different ones. Where your buyer is asking matters as much as the query itself.
Google AI Overview is a completely different game. It reads more like a tutorial ("here's how to lower your ACoS") than a product recommendation ("try Pacvue"). If you're chasing AI Overview visibility, you're not competing with Pacvue — you're competing with Amazon's own help docs.
The citation graph
When ChatGPT or Gemini answers a question about Amazon PPC, it isn't inventing the answer. It's synthesizing from a specific set of source sites. These are the 15 domains cited most often across our 30-day scan.
The most-cited sources are — with almost no exceptions — the product sites of the platforms that get cited. Being cited by AI is a self-reinforcing loop: your own domain is what feeds it. Third-party review sites (G2, Capterra) show up dramatically less than most SEO teams assume.
Reading the tea leaves
You are getting a highly filtered view. Roughly 3 platforms account for 80% of what AI will tell you. That's not because they're the 3 best options for your use case — it's because they've had the strongest presence in AI's training and grounding sources. Ask about specific requirements ("dayparting on Sponsored Display for skincare brands"), not general "best of" questions. The narrower the query, the further into the long tail AI has to reach — and the more you'll learn about smaller platforms you'd otherwise never hear of.
The concentration is your moat, but it's also fragile. Google AI Overview isn't rendering you today; when it starts, the dominant player there will be whoever seeds Amazon's help ecosystem with product content. Perplexity is not represented in this dataset (its usage volume in this specific niche is still small), but it's the AI surface most likely to redistribute mentions in the next 12 months, and it weights third-party reviews (G2, Capterra, Reddit) far more heavily than the other three. If review-aggregator citations are 2% of your inbound signal today, that number will change.
You are one of the 30+ platforms in the long tail. You're competing with Pacvue's 468 mentions from a base of 1-5. The math looks bad. But: you're also competing on a category that isn't fully written yet. Every AI training refresh reshuffles the graph. Every new comparison page on a review site gets read. Every new customer case study becomes AI's raw material. This is the moment where investment on the citation graph — not just on your own site — moves the number.
The playbook
Ordered by cost and effort. If you're a challenger in this category, work top-down.
Every AI model resolves comparison queries by looking for direct-comparison pages. If you don't have a "you vs Pacvue" page, you're not in the running for the query "Pacvue alternatives" — which is one of the highest-intent queries in this category. Cover pricing model, feature parity, and honest tradeoffs. Don't fake feature parity. AI models catch that.
Expected lift: closes 3-6 buyer-intent prompts. Cost: ~1 week of writing.
Review aggregators are only 2% of citations today — but they're growing, especially in Perplexity and future-Perplexity-shaped surfaces. And they're free. If your G2 profile is empty or has stale screenshots, you're leaving citation volume on the table. Fully populated profiles get pulled 5-8x more than sparse ones.
Expected lift: 2-4 additional citations per month. Cost: 4 hours of work.
The Amazon PPC category is dominated by outcome queries: "how do I lower ACoS," "how do I hit 4x ROAS." AI models cite case study pages with real numbers 3x more than pages with vague claims. "Reduced ACoS from 42% to 18% in 90 days on a $2M spend account" is what gets pulled.
Expected lift: closes outcome-query traffic (best_in_category, problem_solution). Cost: ~2 weeks per case study.
Amazon PPC platforms that get cited disproportionately publish structured data. It's the difference between AI understanding "this is a specific product with these capabilities" and "this is text on a page." Missing schema doesn't kill your visibility instantly, but its presence compounds over 90 days as training data refreshes.
Expected lift: gradual, foundation for everything else. Cost: 1 day of engineering.
Every fix takes 2-6 weeks to show up in AI citations as training refreshes propagate. Without weekly measurement, you're guessing about causation. Every play above lands with a lag. Weekly tracking on the specific prompts you care about is what makes it possible to attribute lift to specific changes — and what makes it possible to know when Pacvue's dominance begins to slip.
Expected lift: the compounding effect of knowing what worked. Cost: 15 minutes a week.
